One Year On - A Belated Manchester Birthday

Where has a year gone?! CREation Manchester’s First Birthday

Its been just over a year since CREation launched its Manchester branch in March 2018 and what a crazy year it’s been? Harri and Rosanna, CREation’s founders, set out to create a platform to support early career talent across the wider property industry, with the core mantra of CREation being inclusive: fun, free and for all. CREation’s expansion into the regions from its London roots is a testament to this mantra, spreading the CREation message across all sectors and regions of the property industry.

Since March last year, when CREation launched its first regional branch, we have had a number of successful events, from the launch event which covered the topic of the development of Manchester: the future of workspace and development strategies, to a fantastic informal Christmas social in Capital & Centric’s Crusader Mill development. Other events have included the Manchester CREation Summer Party Drinks which took place in the newly opened Anthologist, a week after its grand opening, and a fun and informative breakfast seminar on Life Sciences and Real Estate hosted conjointly by Cushman & Wakefield and DLA Piper, two of CREation’s sponsor companies. The Manchester committee has got off to a flying start in 2019 with Manchester’s Future of Residential Event, hosted by Harper Harrison in WeWork’s new Manchester office space, with further events in the pipeline covering such topics as the Future of Retail and Town Centres, and another summer social drinks.

We have been working hard to develop current relationships and build new partnerships, most notably, we would like to thank CREation’s sponsor companies: Cushman & Wakefield, Knight Frank, DLA Piper, Lockton Insurance, Lambert Smith Hampton, Colliers International, M7 Real Estate and British Land. Without these companies, who took a chance on CREation before it was proven, we would not have achieved this success. We also received support and partnership from a further 12 companies, who all recognised the benefit of CREation and wanted to get involved in a collaborative way, offering non-financial support to ensure the success of CREation.

Everyone who has contributed, whether it has been our wonderful panels of speakers over the past year or our fantastic sponsor companies, especially those grown from Manchester, we would like to whole heartedly thank. CREation is a Community Interest Company, run 100% by volunteers and without the support of these individuals, and everyone else involved, running the Manchester committee would be a whole lot harder. Watch this space for upcoming regional events.

So, here’s to another amazing year! Looking forward to the rest of 2019, we’re looking to expand our Manchester committee and our regional partnerships.
